In The Beginning – God and Man

God’s Purpose for Man

Let’s talk a little about what happened in the beginning, and more importantly, to show how what happened in the beginning has something to do with you. In the beginning there was the earth, the plants, the animals and man. What is all this for? Why are we here? These are some universal questions. In the beginning God had a purpose in mind for all things. What is this purpose, and what does it have to do with you?  We need to look at the very beginning of the Bible, where God’s purpose for man is revealed. God’s purpose for us can be summarized in two words; image and dominion. In the beginning of the Bible, the beginning of the record, right in the first chapter, God said, “Let Us make man in Our image after Our likeness, and let him have dominion over the fish in the sea, the cattle, the birds and the whole earth.” So we have those two key words that describe why God made man.  Let’s write this on the board. First of all we have the word, “image”. Secondly, we have the word, “dominion”. This verse in the beginning of the Bible reveals to us why God created man.  We were made in the image of God and we were created to have dominion. What do these two words mean? First of all we have the word, “image”. What does image mean? Image is like a photograph. If you look at a photograph of a tree you see the color, the form and the shape of the tree. You could say the photograph expresses or represents the tree. So, image means to express. We were created in the image of God so we could express God.  Let’s write this down—to express God.  Then “dominion” means to represent God. So there you have it.  We are to express God and represent God. These two words at the beginning of the Bible reveal to us why God created man.  He created us in His Image to express Him, and He created us to have dominion or to represent Him.

Peace with God

The only way for peace is a right relationship with God. The only way to have a right relationship with God is through His son Jesus Christ.   Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.   People try to get peace another way, but there is only one way.

DNA as Advanced Software

Human DNA is like a computer code or program.  It is far more advanced than almost any software created by man.  DNA must have been designed by someone very intelligent or derived from something designed and built by some smart being.  Some men have a theory how it come about, but the Bible says someone named “God” created it from nothing. Men and women design and build lots of things, but who designed DNA, the foundation of all biological systems?  God did.  Randomness does not create order out of nothing.  I have never heard of any working computer software that just appeared by some random event.

Genesis 1:1 — In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA is an acid containing genetic coded instructions used in the development and functioning of almost all known living biological organisms.  Human DNA has almost three billion pairs of information which encodes the genes responsible for human life.

God Remembers Your Good Works

God remembers your good work and sacrifices.  Some people help other with a kind deed, serves for years without recognition teaching children, or ministers to the elderly.

Hebrew 6:10 for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

Inspirational Quotes

Here are some great Inspirational Quotes   “…let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith…”   This is from Hebrews chapter 12, a very encouraging quote. The Bible is full of encouragement (and warnings) because God knows what we have to go through to live on the earth.

God Feels the Tears

God feels and remembers our tears.

Psalm 58:8 You Yourself have recorded my wanderings. Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your records?  God can feel every discouragement and every let down.  Don’t forget Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. As a man He felt the pain of living as a human on the earth just like us.
