Hearing His Word
Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.
42 “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.
So what is that good part? The good part is hearing the words of Jesus and following Him. Notice that Mary was not just serving she was cooperating with Jesus in his ministry.
Brought You Unto Myself.
Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
Sometimes we cannot pray and God just brings us to Himself.
Commanding Prayer of the Lord Jesus
| Luke 8:25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” |
Follow Jesus
Luke 4:36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”
Luke 5:5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
The theme is simple “Follow Jesus”, He, that is Jesus, has the power and He knows where the fish are. So don’t follow someone or something else, just follow Jesus.
Heard Because of His Godly Fear
Hebrews 5:7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
Challenge your Mountain in the Lord
Elijah used this prayer when he stopped the rain from heaven and started it again after three and one half years.
The Lord Jesus teaches us to speak to the mountain. Look at these passages:
Matthew 17:20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.
Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
So when the Lord gives us a mountain He wants us to speak to it. Let me say it another way. When we encounter some difficult thing in life, the Lord wants us to speak to the thing. How do you pray or speak then it seems impossible and one can only see in faith that God can do something.
Can Prayer reach Anything?
Can prayer reach anything? I would say that prayer can touch everything except what is outside the will of God.
Amen
